Sedation dentistry allows you to be sedated just enough to be pain-free and unaware of the treatment, therefore often referred to as "concious sedation." Usually, a sedative drug is given to be taken by mouth prior to your planned dental appointment. According to the degree of anxiety, the patient may receive additional sedation to take on the night before the planned dental appointment. It is imperative to have someone bring you to the appointment as you are not permitted to drive for 24 hours following your sedation dentistry appointment.
